Perutz Laboratories (MFPL) are committed to provide a creative space for discoveries. Our research covers a wide range of the molecular biosciences, exploring life at a cellular, molecular and atomic level. All students and scientists benefit from excellent scientific facilities. Our institute is characterized by a spirit of sharing ideas and resources. Currently, 150 PhD students from more than 40 nations work at the MFPL and create an open, interactive atmosphere. English is the official working language.
Awards are available for a period of 2 years for a master level research degree and 3 years for doctoral research degrees. USC funded IPRS equivalent scholarships may also be awarded to meritorious candidates both during the annual scholarship round and outside the annual scholarship round at the discretion of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research).
The World Bank annually awards five scholarships to the PPT program. The first level of screening of candidates will be done at Yokohama National University. The final decision regarding scholarship recipients will be made by the World Bank. The scholarship covers a monthly allowance of JPY170,000 (the amount is subject to change), and a round-trip air ticket to Japan plus a travel allowance of JPY60,000. The monthly stipend is intended to cover living, commuting and other incidental expenses during the student's study period. The next scholarship program runs from April 2012 to March 2014. This cannot be changed under any circumstances. In addition, the scholarship covers tuition, entrance examination and admission fees. Travel expenses for some program-sponsored field trips are also included.

Graduate Curatorial Internships at the National Gallery of Art provide in-depth training for advanced PhD students and recent PhD recipients interested in gaining curatorial experience in a museum setting. Graduate curatorial interns work with curators on permanent collection and exhibition projects and attend a weekly museum seminar that introduces the staff, departments, programs, and functions of the Gallery.
